Here are some of our quick images that we have been working on.

This game is similar to our compare game, except we are using quick images. The person with more gets to keep both cards.

Ahoy, matey!

We have been dramatizing the life and times of pirates this week. We have one small ship where children are creating their own story to dramatize, one large ship where children are scouting out land in the crow's nest, driving the boat, cooking, swabbing the deck, and giving orders of where to sail. One center is a hiding treasure center in the sand area. One person hides the best of treasure, and the others have to guess where it might be.

New math centers

Creation station- how many cubes do you need to make a tree?

Bump- using a die within a die, combine the numbers and place a cube on the circle. Bump your partner's cube off if they landed on the same number. Once you have two of your cubes on the number, it's locked and your partner can't get in!
Geoboards

Market farm - the manager at the restaurant orders some food from the farm, ranging from 11-20 of something like carrots or eggs. He sends the order to her, and she fills it by placing that much food in the tractor. She then delivers it tot her restaurant and the manager checks it on the check sheet to make sure it's correct.

Literacy games

We have been practicing lots of rhyming words  and word patterns this week. We played a rhyming bingo parking lot game and rhyming memory matching. We have also been doing word building each morning, adding one or two new word patterns to our list and practicing old ones. We make a list of words together, such as king, wing, sing, ring, etc and read them to our partners. This is much trickier than it looks!
