Dissolving science lab

We have been reading lots of gingerbread men stories, and we were wondering why he couldn't just swim across the river. We did a science lab using sugar cubes, kool aid powder, skittles, and gingerbread cookies. Each pair of partners had to predict what would happen we when poured water into each cup. After our predictions, we got to test it out like real scientists! Ask your child what happened to each item!

Number line hopscotch

Today we played a new game called number line hopscotch. The teacher (or eventually the team captain) will lay out number cards. The rest of the group has to do a motion and count along with the jumper. Today we started at 10 and counted up from there.

New centers

This week, our new centers include dramatization, tapping out and writing CVC words, listening to a story on CD, penmanship (writing our names in lowercase letters), and look and remember (looking at a picture and answering questions about it from a partner).
